ANKARA - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has stated that Turkey had been monitoring developments further escalating recent tension between Georgia and autonomous Republic of Adzharia with concern.
Releasing a statement, the MFA said on Tuesday that Turkey attributed great importance to stability of neighboring Georgia and prosperity of all Georgian people.
''We do not have any doubt that the sides would act with common-sense and restraint to prevent any undesired developments,'' it said.
The MFA noted, ''we welcome the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' underlining current legal order, peaceful and democratic methods in its statement. Turkey is determined to preserve its bilateral relations with Georgia on the basis of friendly and good neighborhood.''
