BURSA - Nine people who were transferred to court on duty for planning a bomb attack during the NATO summit in Istanbul in June were arrested, sources said on Monday.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that the suspects who were transferred to court on duty on charges of ``being members of a terrorist organization`` were arrested.
Earlier in the day, police detained 16 people in an operation in north-western province of Bursa against Ansar al-Islam, a northern Iraq-based group linked to the al Qaida terrorist network. Seven of them who testified before the prosecutor were released.
