IMF Delegation To Start Formal Talks In Ankara

ANKARA - IMF delegation, led by IMF Turkey desk chief Lorenzo Giorgianni, will start formal talks in Ankara on Monday, sources said on Sunday.
Talks of IMF delegation will start in Treasury Undersecretariat. The delegation is expected to meet State Minister Mehmet Simsek and Treasury Undersecretary Ibrahim Canakci.
The delegation will discuss recent developments in economy with the executives during the meetings to be held in Treasury Undersecretariat, Finance Ministry, State Planning Organization (DPT), Central Bank, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), Privatization Administration and Social Security Agency.
Recent macro-economic situation and expectations, end-of-year figures of public finance figures, 2008 monetary policy, budget growths, social security and tax reforms, primary surplus, current account balance, General Finance Balance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSEs), inflation and other structural reforms will be taken up within the scope of 7th review of the stand-by deal with the IMF.
The IMF delegation is expected to conclude its works in Turkey till October 17th.
19th Stand-By deal with the IMF, which took effect on May 11th, 2005, will end on May 10th, 2008.
