Most Exports Increase Took Place To Developed Nations, Tuzmen

ANKARA - Markets of `developed countries` have made Turkish exporters happy.
In an exclusive interview with the AA, Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen indicated that most exports increase in 2007 took place to developed nations. "In the first nine months of 2007, Turkish exports to just Germany increased by 1.6 billion USD compared to the same term last year," told Tuzmen.
Turkey increased its exports to developed nations in the first nine months of 2007, noted Tuzmen.
"Especially in the ready garments sector, clients that had gone to far east markets have once again began to conduct business with Turkish manufacturers. Exports increases to developed nations shows the quality of Turkish manufacturers. Turkey is in world markets with its fashion and brand names," underlined Tuzmen.
Tuzmen stressed that the low dollar value had a negative impact on Turkish exports to the U.S.. "In the first nine months of 2007, exports to the U.S. decreased by 687 million USD compared to the same term last year," underscored Tuzmen.
