ISTANBUL - NBA President David Stern said that they may open an office in Turkey in 2009.
Holding a press conference prior to Efes Pilsen-Minnesota Timberwolves match within the scope of "NBA Europe Live Tour 2007" in Istanbul, Stern said that they discussed this issue (opening an office) with Turkish companies and were received a great support, adding that Turkish business circle is very determined and it attaches great importance to basketball. Stern said that Turkey is a very big market in this aspect.
Stern noted that he will come to Turkey again in 2010 for World Basketball Championship.
He added that more than 40 U.S. players are playing in Turkey today.
