Unesco Accepts Turkey's Proposal To Form A Philosophy Strategy

PARIS - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has accepted Turkey's proposal to form a ''Philosophy Strategy''.
During the 169th term meetings of the UNESCO Executive Board on Monday, the member countries expended their support to Turkey's proposal.
Speaking at the session, Turkish Permanent Representative to the UNESCO, Numan Hazar said, ''the UNESCO was established in 1945 under the principles of peace, co-operation and mutual understanding. These principles have reflected in activities of UNESCO.''
Highlighting importance of philosophy in regard to understanding global problems and preventing racism, xenophobia and intolerance, Hazar said that the philosophy accelerated efforts to provide inter-cultural dialogue.
He added that a philosophy strategy to be formed under structure of UNESCO would make global contributions.
