ANKARA - A group of students has protested NATO Summit to be held in Istanbul in June of 2004 on the first day of a symposium organized by Ankara's Hacettepe University Economy Society on ''Cyprus'.
Sources told A.A correspondent on Monday that a group of students attempted to enter the conference hall while Ahmet Zeki Bulunc, the Ambassador of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to Turkey, was speaking.
When members of the group was not allowed to enter the hall, they chanted slogans against NATO and the United States.
After Bulunc left the building, officials announced that the next session was cancelled.
Security forces have taken tight measures.
Following the protest, students dispersed.
