ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Monday that annual inflation rate became 2.65 percent in wholesale prices and 0.59 percent in consumer prices in April of 2004.
Wholesale prices rose by 8.91 percent and consumer prices increased by 10.18 percent in April over to the same month of 2003.
In the first four months of 2004, inflation rate became 9.33 percent in wholesale prices and 2.79 percent in consumer prices.
Meanwhile, according to 12-month averages as of April 2004, annual inflation rate was 17.03 percent in wholesale prices and 20.01 percent in consumer prices.
Price increase in the private sector of manufacturing industry which is called core inflation rate became 1.5 percent in April.
