BRUSSELS - NATO sources have said that postponement or cancellation of NATO Summit to be held in Istanbul in June due to possible acts of terrorism was out of question.
After Turkish police detained 16 people in an operation against Ansar al-Islam, a northern Iraq-based group linked to the al Qaida terrorist network who are believed to have been planning a bomb attack during the NATO summit, NATO officials said on Monday that postponement or cancellation of NATO Summit was out of question.
They added that the summit would be held in Istanbul between June 28 and 29 as its was scheduled earlier.
