ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the European Union's (EU) enlargement ceremonies to be held in Irish capital Dublin on May 1, 2004.
Releasing a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Friday that State Minister Mehmet Aydin and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan would accompany Prime Minister Erdogan during his visit.
Following the ceremonies, Prime Minister Erdogan will attend a reception to be hosted by the President of Ireland, and a banquet to be hosted in honor of heads of state and government of EU member and candidate countries.
He will depart from Dublin later in the same day.
Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Malta and the Greek Cypriot side, which signed the Accession Agreement with the EU on April 16, 2003, will become official and de facto members of the EU as of May 1, 2004.
