ANKARA - Information Minister Saytbek Abdrahmanov of Kazakhstan and an accompanying delegation visited on Friday Turkish State Minister Besir Atalay.
State Minister Atalay stressed that Turkey and Kazakhstan made cooperation in every field.
Noting that 20 national TV channels were broadcasting in Turkey, Atalay said that one of those TV channels was Turkish Radio and Television Corp (TRT) and others were private TV channels. He added that there were 18 regional TV channels and 218 local channels in the country.
Atalay said that Turkey had 38 national newspapers, 35 periodicals and many local and regional newspapers.
Recalling that Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government made promise in its election declaration and the government program that the government would produce solutions for Turkish society to be informed about everything in a better way, Atalay said that they passed a law on citizens' right to receive information.
Atalay stressed that Press Draft Law which was being debated in the Turkish Parliamentary Justice Commission was prepared by taking into consideration of international standards.
Abdrahmanov said that Turkey was the first country to recognize Republic of Kazakhstan.
Recalling that Kazakhstan has been under pressure for years, Abdrahmanov added that they wanted to make good use of Turkey's experiences in press and publication field .
