ANKARA - Turkish Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu received on Friday Romanian Ambassador to Turkey Constantin Grigorie.
Prior to his meeting with Grigorie, Guclu noted that trade volume amounted to about 2 billion U.S. dollars between Turkey and Romania and stated that developments in economic cooperation continued rapidly.
Guclu stated that there was a big potential in agricultural field between the two countries.
Grigorie said that Turkey and Romania had high level political and commercial relations and noted that Romanian President and Prime Minister would pay a visit to Istanbul in June. Grigorie said that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would visit Romania in May and President Ahmet Necdet Sezer would pay a visit to his country in July.
Grigorie noted that they aimed to reach 2.5 billion U.S. dollars of trade volume this year and 3 billion U.S. dollars of trade volume between Turkey and Romania in 2005.
