ANKARA - President Natsagiyn Bagabandi of Mongolia Thursday visited Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc.
Bagabandi is currently visiting Turkey as the official guest of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.
Speaking at his meeting with Arinc, Bagabandi said relations between Turkey and Mongolia were rooted in history, stating that there would always be friendly relations between the two countries.
Bagabandi said Turkey had set up diplomatic relations with Mongolia 35 years ago, stating that he had paid his first visit to Turkey in 1993 when he was acting as the Parliament Speaker.
The guest President said cooperation in culture and education between the two countries came to the forefront in bilateral relations, stressing that thousands of people and children could speak in Turkish language today in Mongolia as a result of the Turkey's investment in education.
Arinc in his part said Turkey and Mongolia have relations based in history, and noted that there was not any problem in relations of the two countries.
Arinc said Turks have cultural and historical heritage in Mongolia.
