GAZIANTEP - Exports of textiles from the provinces in Turkey's Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region in the first three months of 2004 increased 64 percent from 110 million 667 thousand U.S. dollars to 181 million 358 thousand U.S. dollars.
Southeast Anatolian Exporters' Associations data show that the region exported mainly carpets, thread, towels and plastic sacks to a number of countries including the United States and European Union members.
