LEFKOSA - Democrat Party (DP) and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) decided to continue the coalition government of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and DP leader Serdar Denktas said on Sunday.
Denktas and Talat met and evaluated the result of Saturday's simultaneous referenda in Cyprus and the situation of the government.
Following their meeting, Denktas told A.A correspondent that they discussed whether or not to continue coalition government in their meeting and decided to be in the power.
Denktas said, ''we can't find better partners.''
TRNC Foreign Minister Denktas said that he and Talat would meet United Nations (U.N.) Secretary General Kofi Annan's Special Envoy to Cyprus Alvaro de Soto on Monday.
Denktas noted that De Soto would visit TRNC Prime Ministry for the first time, adding, ''I think he will pay a farewell visit.''
TRNC and Greek Cypriot side voted U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's plan for a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem in simultaneous referenda held on April 24.
Sixty-five percent of Turkish Cypriots voted ''yes'' to the Annan plan while 35.09 percent voted against the plan in the simultaneous referenda. A total of 75.83 percent of the Greek Cypriots said ''no'' to the plan while 24.17 of them voted ''yes.''
The rate of participation in the referendum was 84.35 in TRNC and 96.53 percent in the Greek Cypriot side.
