TEHRAN - Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu will pay an official visit to Iran.
Turkish Embassy in Tehran Counselor Sedat Onal who held a press conference on Sunday said that Mumcu would visit Iran as the guest of Islamic Culture and Guidance Minister Ahmad Masjed-Jamei of Iran to attend ''Turkish Tourism Days'' which would be held at Azadi Hotel in Tehran between April 27 and 29.
Stating that ''Turkish Tourism Days'' would start with participation of Mumcu and Masjed-Jamei on April 27, Onal said that Mumcu would also make opening remarks of Turkish-Iranian Business Council.
Onal noted that a panel entitled, ''Turkey-Iran Tourism Cooperation'' would also be organized at Azadi Hotel, and said that meals of Turkish cuisine would be exhibited.
Turkish handicrafts exhibition will also be held under ''Turkish Tourism Days''.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mumcu is expected to be received by Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref-Yazdi and hold a meeting with Roads and Transport Minister Ahmad Khoram.
Nearly 500 thousand Iranian tourists visited Turkey last year.
