WASHINGTON D.C./ANKARA - World Bank included Turkey among 11 countries whose project was worth seeing in its place due to its ''Basic Education Program,'' sources said on Sunday.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that Basic Education Program which was implemented in Turkey with support of World Bank was included in the most successful projects as it had an effect in overcoming poverty.
Besides Turkey, Indonesia, Uganda, India, Bangladesh, Yemen, China and Brazil are also among countries whose project was worth seeing.
World Bank officials will take foreign guests to eastern province of Van and show them developments under Basic Education Program.
The project which has effect in overcoming poverty will be promoted in a conference entitled, ''Overcoming Poverty and Sustainable Growth'' which will be held in Shanghai, the People's Republic of China between May 25 and 27.
More than 600 people will participate in the conference in Shanghai and they will discuss what can be done to overcome poverty.
