Gul Calls On Greek Cypriot People Not To Respect Tricks

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul has called on Greek Cypriot people not to respect tricks on the eve of Saturday's referendums in Cyprus.
Replying to questions of journalists, Gul said on Friday that everyone should respect for results of the referendums.
''We have worked hard to find a fair and lasting solution to the Cyprus issue and to provide peace in the island. We have displayed our good-will,'' he said.
Upon a question, Gul said, ''if the Greek Cypriot side wants peace, they should be aware of that it is a compromise. And compromise is a part of European culture. If the Turkish Cypriot side can display its intention for a compromise, they should also display the same intention.''
''I respect for everyone's decision. However, everyone in the island should be careful as they are casting their votes. They should not respect tricks. We have been carrying out works against all kinds of possibilities. We will make a detailed statement after the referendum,'' Gul added.
