ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Senior Resident Representative in Turkey Odd Per Brekk has said that the economic program that Turkey implemented continued yielding influential results.
Brekk told the A.A correspondent on Wednesday that Turkey received favorable results in economic growth, fight against inflation and continuation of a sound public debt.
Brekk stressed that fall in inflation rate was the most important success of the economic program.
Stating that the letter of intent included exemptions in three criteria including budget, monetary base and redundant employment in State Economic Enterprises (SEEs), Brekk said that IMF Executive Board accepted demand for exemption in three criteria as the economic program continued well in Turkey.
Brekk underlined that targets in reduction in total employment were exceeded with the government's measures in redundant employment.
He added that demand for Turkish lira (TL) increased as confidence improved in economic stability and economy in Turkey.
