Turkey Raises $626 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 168 thousand 841 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 626 million 476 thousand 602 U.S. dollars in the 33rd week of the hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association told the A.A correspondent on Tuesday that Turkey was exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
They said that Turkey exported 133 thousand 868 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 19 thousand 502 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 9 thousand 539 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 5 thousand 932 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the last export season, Turkey had exported 211 thousand 531 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 481 million 339 thousand 745 U.S. dollars.
