Turkish State Minister Babacan Leaves For United States

ISTANBUL - Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan left for the United States on Tuesday.
Babacan will attend International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank spring meetings and participate in the U.N. Economic and Social Council meetings in the United States.
Prior to his departure for the United States, Babacan told reporters that he was accompanied by representatives of Treasury Undersecretariat and Central Bank in his visit to Washington and New York.
Stating that he would also meet with representatives of finance organizations, investors and Turkish and American businessmen, Babacan said that he would also deliver speeches in conferences at some universities. He added that he would also hold bilateral meetings in the United States.
Babacan said that he would have opportunity to inform U.S. officials about developments and political and economic stability in Turkey.
