IZMIR - Jozef Steis, the commercial consultant of the Slovakian Embassy in Ankara, pointed out that the trade volume between Turkey and Slovakia have increased in recent years and said, "we can further improve this volume on the basis of mutual interests."
Chairman of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce Ekrem Demirtas and other officials visited the Slovakian pavilion at the Izmir International Fair (IEF) on Tuesday and talked to Jozef Steis who said the trade volume between the two countries have increased from 2 million to 1 billion USD in the last five years.
"We can implement joint projects in the areas of trade, and tourism. Via agreements of economic cooperation we can further improve our ever increasing volume of trade which amounts currently to 1 billion USD. Slovakia is an ideal place for tourism with it`s artistic, cultural and historical heritage and winter sports. Also we have remarkable investments in the fields of automotive, pharmacology and chemistry. We can strengthen cultural and commercial ties between Turkey and Slovakia on the basis of mutual interests," said Steis.
