-TURKEY EARNS 900 M USD FROM SHIPMENT
ANKARA - A total of 200 million barrels of oil, pumped via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, have been shipped to world markets from the Haydar Aliyev Sea Terminal in southern province of Adana's Ceyhan town, it was reported.
Last month (in August), the number of barrels filled with BTC oil was 21.4 million, a record number.
The BTC oil pipeline was inaugurated on June 2nd, 2006.
To date, Turkey has earned 900 million USD from oil shipment through Haydar Aliyev Terminal.
The BTC project cost 3.4 billion USD and carries Azerbaijani oil to Turkey via Georgia.
The BTC is 1,776 kilometers long. 1,076 kilometers of the pipeline is in Turkey. It has a potential to export one million barrels of oil in a single day.
