BURSA - Exports by Turkish automotive sector rose 33 percent to 12.5 billion USD in the first eight months of 2007.
In the same period previous year, exports were about 9.4 billion USD.
Exports of automobiles amounted to 4.3 billion USD.
Meanwhile, exports by the automotive sector rose 31 percent to 1.2 billion USD in August. In August 2006, Turkish automotive sector exported automobiles of 976.1 million USD.
Meanwhile, Turkey exported automotive products to 14 free zones as well as 169 countries and autonomous regions in the January-August period of the year.
Germany was ranked the first with an automotive exports of 2 billion USD followed by Italy, France, Britain and Spain.
