ANKARA - President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) arrived in Ankara on Thursday to address the Turkish parliament.
Replying to questions of journalists, President Denktas said that he came to Ankara to explain the truth, adding that the Turkish parliament had already known these facts.
''There is still a chance. The Cyprus issue is a national case. No one can talk about last chance in national cases,'' he said.
When asked whether the Turkish parliament supported him, President Denktas said, ''yes, of course.''
President Denktas is scheduled to meet with Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc in the coming hours.
Later, President Denktas will address deputies at the Parliamentary General Assembly.
President Denktas will also partake in a dinner to be hosted in his honor by the Turkish Parliamentarians' Association.
