ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said, ''I wish that our visit to Japan will make positive contributions to our bilateral relations.''
Holding a press conference at Ankara's Esenboga Airport after his arrival from Japan, Prime Minister Erdogan said on Thursday, ''I held very comprehensive and constructive meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. Economic, political and commercial issues were discussed during the meetings.''
''Nearly 600 thousand Japanese citizens visited exhibitions under the 2004 Turkey Year Activities. These activities have made a valuable contribution to further improvement of relations between Turkish and Japanese peoples,'' he said
Recalling that he had held talks with Japanese emperor and prince, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''as you know, Japanese prince is interested in the archaeological excavations in Kalehoyuk in Kaman. The excavations will continue for the next five decades.''
''I wish that our visit to Japan will make positive contributions to our bilateral relations,'' Prime Minister Erdogan added.
