Italian Prime Minister Prodi Says Gul Will Be A Great President

ROME - Prime Minister Romano Prodi of Italy said that they welcomed the election of Abdullah Gul as the new president of Turkey.
Prime Minister Prodi told reporters that Gul will be a great president.
Meanwhile, European Affairs Minister Emma Bonino said that Gul's presidency will further accelerate Turkey's EU membership policy.
Bonino said in a statement that Turkey's economic, social and political reforms will further strengthen during Gul's term in office as the 11th president of Turkey.
