Pakistani President Sends Congratulatory Message To President Gul

ANKARA - Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf sent a congratulatory message to Abdullah Gul who was elected the 11th president of Turkey on Tuesday.
Musharraf said in his message, "it is heartening to know that you have been elected President of the Republic of Turkey. Your Excellency's election is illustrative of the trust and confidence reposed in your dedicated leadership by the people of Turkey."
"On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan and my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to extend heartiest felicitations to Your Excellency on this auspicious occasion," he stressed.
Musharraf added, "not only, Pakistan and Turkey have very deep historical and fraternal ties, but together, they are also pursuing common objectives and a shared vision, of peace, prosperity and development for their people and the region. I look forward to closely working with you, for further strengthening of these ties and achieving of these cherished goals."
