Elections In Turkey Brings Political Stability, E.C.

BRUSSELS - The general elections (held on July 22nd) and the ongoing presidential election have brought political stability to Turkey, the European Commission (EC) announced on Tuesday.
This political stability will contribute to Turkey's reforms and EU accession process, Amadeu Altafaj Tardio, the spokesperson for the Commission, told a press conference.
Tardio noted that they will not comment on the recent statement of the Turkish Armed Forces. "However, we note down every statement, and EU's opinion regarding the role of the army is well-known," he stated.
On the other hand, Tardio said that the Commission welcomes recent approach of French President Nicolas Sarkozy who shed green light to accession talks with Turkey.
