TOKYO - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Japanese Prince Tomohito Mikasa on Monday.
Erdogan later received Mitsubishi company's chairman Kojima and five officials of the company.
Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan went to Japan on Saturday. Erdogan is accompanied by his wife Emine Erdogan, Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan, Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim, Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag and Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu, businessmen and journalists.
Erdogan attended a reception hosted in his honor by Turkey's Ambassador to Japan Solmaz Unaydin on Sunday.
He will be received by Japanese Emperor Akihito and the Empress later in the day.
He will receive Itochu Company President Uichiro Niwa and Ishikawajima-Harima Company President Mototsugu Ito.
Prime Minister Erdogan is scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi later in the same day.
Following the meeting, Koizumi will host a banquet in honor of Prime Minister Erdogan.
On April 13, Prime Minister Erdogan will meet with Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Yohei Kono and the House of Councilors President Hiroyuki Kurata.
He will meet with Turkish and Japanese businessmen at the New Otani Hotel.
Prime Minister Erdogan will attend the reception to be hosted on the occasion of Turkish-Japanese Friendship Association General Assembly Meeting.
He will proceed to Aichi to visit Toyota facilities on April 14.
After attending a briefing and a luncheon in Toyoto facilities, Erdogan will proceed to Osaka to meet with the mayor of Osaka.
Prime Minister Erdogan is expected to return to Turkey later in the same day.
