ANKARA - "Refusing to be present in the General Assembly and boycotting presidential election is a childish attitude," Ufuk Uras, an MP from the Freedom & Solidarity Party (ODP), said on Monday.
Abdullah Gul's presidential candidacy is not only legitimate but also a democratic right, he told reporters after meeting Gul.
"I will be present in the General Assembly, but I will not vote for Gul," he added.
"I was respected by every one (I have met)," said Gul after meeting independent MP Kamer Genc.
"They told me that they will help me if I am elected, and I am glad that I have already proved my neutrality," Gul added.
Kamer Genc, in his part, said that he will not be at the General Assembly Hall during the presidential election since this will mean a support.
Gul did not have a meeting with independent MP Erdogan Yetenc, who resigned from the Republican People's Party (CHP) last week.
