ANKARA - Presidential candidate and Kayseri deputy Abdullah Gul paid a visit to Turkish Bar Association (TBB) on Monday.
Following his meeting with TBB Chairman Ozdemir Ozok, Abdullah Gul said he started his visits this week with TBB.
"I told them that I will give full weight to accord in state government, if I am elected president," Gul said. He also noted that Turkish economy would grow rapidly if it becomes a foreseeable country where law, basic rights and freedom are secured.
On the other hand, Ozok said mature democratic stance by PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Justice & Development (AK) Party executives following AK Party's election victory on July 22nd inspires hope and confidence for the future of Turkey. However, he said outcomes of July 22nd general elections do not mean a message regarding Gul's renomination.
"We feel sympathy to Gul's personality. But when the point is presidency, we can not accept their policies and references," Ozok added.
