ANKARA - Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu has said that fight against international organized gangs entailed international co-operation.
Aksu met with Slovenian Interior Minister Rado Bohinc, who is currently paying an official visit to Turkey.
Speaking at the meeting, Bohinc said that both Turkey and Slovenia stood on the ''Balkans Crime Route'', and stressed that it is necessary to set up a partnership in efforts to provide security.
Bohinc expressed his pleasure with signing of agreements between police departments of the countries.
Bohinc said that they would like to discuss security, terrorism, organized crimes and the issues on agenda of the EU commission with Aksu. He added that there were common issues and problems and they would look for joint solution during meetings.
Aksu said that Bohinc came to Ankara upon his official invitation and he expressed his pleasure. He added that he wished further development of relations between two countries which started after Slovenia announced its independence.
Aksu said that by the text of understanding which would be signed tomorrow between two countries they would reach an agreement on issues such as fight against organized crimes and illicit drug trafficking on which technical meetings were completed last year.
A text of understanding on security cooperation between Turkey and Slovenia will be signed tomorrow after meetings between delegations.
