De Soto Due In Cyprus

LEFKOSA - United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan's Special Envoy to Cyprus Alvaro de Soto will come to the island on Wednesday.
De Soto telephoned Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Tuesday, and told Talat that he wanted to meet with him.
Replying to questions of the A.A correspondent, Prime Minister Talat said, ''Mr. De Soto called me on the phone, and I informed him on recent situation in the island. He told me that he wanted to meet with me tomorrow. We will hold a meeting on Wednesday afternoon.''
Upon a question about the decision of the National Security Council (NSC) about Cyprus, Prime Minister Talat said, ''I consider it very positive. It is logical and encouraging.''
