ANKARA - A cocktail party was hosted at the Anadolu Agency (A.A) on Tuesday to mark the 84th anniversary of A.A's foundation.
State Minister Besir Atalay, State Minister Ali Babacan, State Minister Guldal Aksit, Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan and Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu attended the party.
They congratulated A.A Director General and President of Executive Board Dr. Hilmi Bengi.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Unakitan visited the Economy Department of the A.A and received information about activities of the department.
Some deputies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Namik Tan, Japanese Ambassador to Turkey Tomoyuki Abe, Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Aiguo Song, Energy Market Regulation Board Chairman Yusuf Gunay, Ministry of Health Undersecretary Necdet Univar, Press and Information Director General Abdurrahman Bilgic, Youth and Sports Director General Mehmet Atalay, Journalists' Society Chairman Nazmi Bilgin and a number of guests were in attendance at the cocktail party.
INTERIOR MINISTER AKSU: A.A CONSTITUTES AN EXEMPLARY MODEL FOR BOTH NATIONAL MEDIA AND INTERNATIONAL NEWS AGENCIES
Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu has said that the Anadolu Agency (A.A) constituted an exemplary model for both national media and international news agencies.
Aksu sent a congratulatory message to A.A Director General and President of Executive Board Dr. Hilmi Bengi to mark the 84th anniversary of A.A's foundation on Tuesday.
In his message, Aksu said, ''in the national liberalization process, the A.A was founded by Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to explain Turkish nation's rightful struggle to the whole world.''
''Since the day it was founded, the A.A has renewed and developed itself, put into practice the principle of impartial, accurate and rapid journalism, and corroborated its reliability in the whole world. The A.A constituted an exemplary model for both national media and international news agencies. Also, the A.A has provided the necessary ground and source for many news agencies. The A.A is a school of journalism raising countless reporters. The A.A's current situation is a source of pride to both our country and press,'' Aksu stressed.
