ANKARA - Moroccan Prime Minister Driss Jettou will come to Turkey tomorrow to sign Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and Morocco, Foreign Trade Undersecretariat said in a written statement on Monday.
The undersecretariat said that two countries would also sign Turkey-Morocco 8th Term Joint Economic Commission (JEC) protocol.
Moroccan External Commerce Minister Mustapha Mechahouri, who will head Moroccan delegation during meetings, will also have bilateral meetings with Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan and Trade and Industry Minister Ali Coskun in Ankara.
The number of countries with which Turkey has signed Free Trade Agreement will reach 16 with Turkey-Morocco Free Trade Agreement. The agreement will be the first agreement which Turkey will sign with a north African country. This agreement will be a pushing force for completing preferential trade agreements especially with north African countries and with other countries of Barcelona process.
Delegations of two countries will revise the current situation of commercial and economic relations and they will determine the necessary measures to be taken to increase the relations during JEC meeting. Sides will evaluate in details the cooperation facilities in commerce, industrial cooperation, investment, contractor services, agriculture, tourism, transportation and technical cooperation fields.
Two countries will sign Turkey-Morocco 8th Term JEC Protocol that will include the issues on which Turkey and Morocco will reach an agreement after the meetings on April 7 in Ankara.
Turkish-Moroccan Business Council Joint meeting will also be held with the participation of representatives of 35 Moroccan firms from different sectors on April 8 in Istanbul.
