Bush: Turkey And U.S. Are Making World A More Secure Place

WASHINGTON - U.S. President George Bush said on Monday that Turkey and the United States were making the world a more secure place.
Sending a message to the 23rd conference of American-Turkish Council (ATC), Bush said that the United States was grateful to friendship and support of Turkish Republic. He added that two countries have carried on an important partnership for years which depended on common values, friendship and mutual respect.
Bush said that today the relations between Turkey and the United States were continuing to remain sound while two countries have been fighting together in global war against terrorism, developing transatlantic relations and improving peace in southeast Europe, Eurasia and Greater Middle East. He added that two countries were making the world a more secure place together.
Bush said that he was applauding the members of ATC for their efforts to develop investment, trade and friendship between Turkey and the United States.
Panel discussions, which concern two countries on trade, investment and foreign policy issues, will be held at ATC conference that will start in Washington today.
