Interior Minister: We Have Launched A Significant Operation Against Dhkp-c

ISTANBUL - Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu and Justice Minister Cemil Cicek paid a visit of courtesy to newly elected Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas on Saturday.
Replying to questions of journalists about the synchronous operation in five countries against the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), Aksu said, ''we have launched a significant operation against the DHKP-C. On every occasion, Turkey has advocated that international co-operation was required in fight against terrorism. We have succeeded in launching the operation as a result of this co-operation.''
''We have signed bilateral security agreements with 44 countries and trilateral security agreements with six countries so far. These agreements envisage co-operation in fight against cross-border crimes such as terrorism, illicit drug trafficking, organized crimes and human smuggling. We held long-standing talks with Germany and the other EU-member countries before launching the operation. As a result, a synchronous operation has been launched in five countries and it has started to bring good results,'' Aksu added.
