National Defense Minister Gonul Arrives In Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul arrived in Washington D.C., the United States, to attend the annual meeting of the American-Turkish Council.
State Minister Kursad Tuzmen is also expected to attend the 23rd Annual Conference of the American-Turkish Council.
U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard Myers and U.S. Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith will attend the conference as speakers.
Under the conference, several panel discussions will be held between April 5 and 7, 2004.
The conference is expected to focus on the issues of diplomacy, politics, defense, energy, trade, economy, joint business opportunities, agriculture, communication and culture.
The issues of Iraq, Cyprus and Turkey's European Union process are expected to be high on agenda of the conference.
