PARIS - France's support to Turkey's adjustment to the European Union (EU) acquis will be taken up at a meeting to be held on April 5 with the participation of high-level Turkish and French officials.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that such a meeting would be held for the first time upon invitation of the French government.
At the meeting, co-operation opportunities between Turkey and France in public administration, justice, migration, regional development, agriculture, internal affairs and communication would be discussed.
Training projects that French authorities can provide for Turkey's adjustment to the EU acquis are among the issues high on the agenda.
Director generals for EU affairs of Turkish and French ministries of foreign affairs will preside the meeting.
Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Turkey's Secretariat General for the EU, State Planning Organization (DPT), State Personnel Directorate General officials and representatives of Turkish Embassy in Paris will attend the meeting on behalf of Turkey.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, and Rural Affairs officials will represent France at the meeting.
Sources added that the meeting was considered as a sign of recently improving relations between Paris and Ankara.
