ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Saturday that annual inflation rate became 7.97 percent in wholesale prices and 11.83 percent in consumer prices in March of 2004.
Wholesale prices rose by 2.10 percent and consumer prices increased by 0.89 percent in March over to the same month of 2003.
In the first three months of 2004, inflation rate became 6.50 percent in wholesale prices and 2.19 percent in consumer prices.
Meanwhile, according to 12-month averages as of March 2004, annual inflation rate was 19.8 percent in wholesale prices and 21.67 percent in consumer prices.
Price increase in the private sector of manufacturing industry which is called core inflation rate became 0.7 percent in March.
