SIMFEREPOL - Autonomous Republic of Crimea government officials have hosted a luncheon in honor of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is currently paying an official visit to Ukraine.
State Minister Besir Atalay and State Minister Kursad Tuzmen also partook in the luncheon on Saturday.
Mustafa Cemilev, the leader of Crimean Tatar community who has been receiving medical treatment at hospital, attended the luncheon.
Replying to questions of journalists, Cemilev said that Tatar Turks who were sent to exile during the former Soviet Union era, had begun returning to their homeland.
Noting that their number increased to 260 thousand in Crimea, Cemilev said that there had been nearly 2 million Turkish people of Tatar origin in Turkey.
