BURSA - Exports of ready-to-wear clothing from northwestern province of Bursa increased by 5.8 percent, and exports of textiles rose by 29.7 percent in the first quarter of 2004.
Uludag Exporters' Association told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that exports of ready-to-wear clothing and textiles increased from 281 million 826 thousand U.S. in January-March period of 2003 to 328 million 480 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period this year.
Meanwhile, exports of textiles increased 24 percent from 52 million 754 thousand U.S. dollars to 65 million 230 thousand U.S. dollars in March of 2004.
Exports of ready-to-wear clothing rose 4 percent from 52 million 805 thousand U.S. dollars to 54 million 806 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period.
The region exported textiles to seven free zones and 81 countries and autonomous regions, and exported ready-to-wear clothing to eight free zones and 73 countries and autonomous regions.
