KIEV - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is paying a visit to Ukraine, was decorated with honorary doctorate by the Kiev Polytechnic Institute of National Technical University of Ukraine on Friday.
Erdogan said that Turkey and Ukraine were two neighbor countries which were able to pioneer peace, stability and development in Eurasia by making good use of opportunities of joint geography and history shared by the two countries.
Stating that he was very proud of receiving this honorary doctorate, Erdogan said that this university was playing a special role in the future of relations improving rapidly between the two countries.
''Turkish government considers Ukraine an important country with which relations should be developed further,'' he stated.
Erdogan said that they aimed to strengthen relations providing mutual interests between businessmen, students, scientists and artists of the two countries, noting that Turkey and Ukraine would make together important contributions to European civilization's producing new values as they did earlier.
He noted that there was need for development based on market economy under rules of the state of law and noted that Turkish government recorded very important progresses on this issue in a very short time.
