Prime Minister Erdogan Opens Ankara Square In Kiev

KIEV - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened on Friday Ankara Square in Ukrainian capital of Kiev.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Erdogan said that opening a square called as Ankara Square in Kiev was of great importance for further improvement of friendly ties between the two countries.
''Turkey and Ukraine have friendly relations. We are laying new foundations on the path of peace. Our friendly relations and economic cooperation make Black Sea a lake of friendship and economic solidarity,'' he stated.
Erdogan said that Kiev Mayor Oleksandr Omelcenko and he had been friends since he was serving as mayor of Istanbul and noted that this friendship continued at a different level now.
Omelcenko said that they were very pleased with Erdogan's participation in the opening of Ankara Square.
Omelcenko stressed that the opening of Ankara Square in Kiev showed that they wanted to further improve cooperation with Turkey.
State Ministers Besir Atalay and Kursad Tuzmen also attended the opening ceremony.
