143 People Who Received Training In Countries Like Afghanistan And Pakistan Detained

ANKARA - Security forces detained 143 people who were determined to have received training in countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan during operations against terrorist organizations, Security Department Deputy Director and Spokesman Ramazan Er said on Friday.
Er told a weekly news briefing that police continued to fight against terrorist organizations without making any discrimination.
Er said 808 people were detained in 392 operations in 2003 against the terrorist organizations having religious motives. Er said 334 of them arrested and 474 of them were released.
Er said 69 operations were launched against the terrorist organizations having religious motives between January 1 and March 29, 2004, stressing that 143 people were captured. He said 43 of them were detained, noting that 171 people were also captured in Bingol, Van, Ankara, Antalya, Kocaeli, Istanbul, Hatay and Mersin after the investigations carried out.
Er said operations continue without intervals against Hizbullah, IBDA-C, Islamic Movement Acz-i Mendi, Hiz-but Tahrir, which were determined to get training in camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan since 2004.
