IMMORAL PROPOSAL AT THE LAST MOMENT
Greek and Greek Cypriot side brought a proposal on the negotiation table before the expiration of the period which U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan gave to the sides. They said, ''let us disrupt this plan altogether and put an end to the talks.''
Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos also made a statement which bewildered the Turkish delegation. He said, ''we made the same proposal to Denktas.'' But the Turkish delegation did not accept this proposal.

NSC EXPENDS FULL SUPPORT TO SOLUTION
National Security Council (NSC) issued a statement following its meeting, and said, ''Turkey, which initiated the current process, sincerely continues to support the efforts to reach a permanent and fair solution on Cyprus.''
The statement said, ''the Council reviewed the negotiation process in Switzerland which started after New York agreement, and listened to the statements made by the members of the delegation which attended the negotiations.''

A DIFFERENT LIFE TO START IN CYPRUS IN CASE OF YES VOTE IN REFERENDUM
Turkish and Greek flags on the island will be descended when the result is approved. Flag of United Cyprus Republic will be hoisted.
Here is the new Cyprus
-Founder states will have their own national anthem and flag.
-One of the sides will not be able to claim authority or legislation authority on the other side in relations of two founder states.
-People will use their political rights in federal level according to their founder state citizenship and their continuous residence in local elections.
-Chairs will be shared 24-24 in senate of joint state.
-Greek Cypriots who will return to the North will not be more than 18 percent of the population at the first stage.

GOVERNMENT TO START ARBITRATION PROCESS ON IRANIAN GAS
Turkey decided to operate arbitration process to make revision in price of the natural gas which it purchases from Iran.
Under the requirements of natural gas agreement signed with Iran, Energy Ministry made an announcement to Iran last July to revise the natural gas price with reduction.
Energy Ministry Hilmi Guler and high ranking officials of BOTAS paid a visit to this county.
The bargaining entered a deadlock when Iranian delegation said the revision right, which Turkey stated as end of 2003 would in fact expire in December 2004.
BOTAS Director General Mehmet Bilgic said they informed Iran that Turkey would apply to arbitration. Decision of international arbitration delegation would be binding for the sides.

JOINT OPERATION FROM EU TO DEV-SOL
DHKP-C was the first target of the ''fight against terrorism'' decision issued from the European Union summit. Synchronous operations were held in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Greece and Turkey. 54 people were taken into custody and seven others were arrested.

NEW PRESSURE FROM ANNAN TO THE SIDES
United Nations (U.N.) wants the sides to give commitments that they would put the plan to referendum. The U.N. also wanted the three guarantor states to give written commitment till April 7 that 'they approve putting this plan to referendum and that they will present it to their parliaments for approval in case there is positive vote.''

GUL TO BRIEF PARLIAMENT
Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Thursday that he would inform Parliamentary General Assembly and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group on Tuesday about the current situation in Cyprus.

TURKEY IS ONE STEP BEYOND
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured the United Nations (U.N.) that Turkey would fulfill its responsibilities in referendum process and at the same time called on Turkish Cypriot people to say ''yes'' in the referendum, saying ''we want to obtain the results of our efforts.''
Erdogan, who earlier said, ''we will be one step beyond'', kept his promise.
Erdogan told U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan that he was ready to give written assurances about referendum. But Greek Cypriot side opposed to it.

SPRING TO BE DELAYED
As flowers bloomed giving goods news of Spring's coming, State Meteorology Directorate said there will be rainy weather.
Temperatures will decrease throughout the country. There will be snow and rain in Eastern and northern parts of the country at the weekend.

ERDOGAN: ''DO NOT PREVENT SOLUTION''
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a message to President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and said, ''nobody can say that 'I was not informed about this plan'. Every kind of information was given to Mr.Denktas when we were in Switzerland. History will not forgive those who prevent solution on the island from now on.''

PLEDGE FROM EU TO EXPEND SUPPORT TO AGRICULTURE
European Agriculture Confederation Chairman Ben Gill said necessary support would be expended to Turkey for improvement of agriculture sector.
Agriculture Ministry said forty million lira support would be given for each animal used for breeding.

''EVEN IF GREEK CYPRIOTS COMPLAIN, THEY WILL NOT SAY 'NO' IN THE REFERENDUM''
Following presentation of Annan plan, eyes were turned to referendum that will take place on April 24. Diplomatic sources said it was difficult for Greek Cypriot side to say 'no' to the referendum.
Ankara, which approaches the plan in optimistic sense, continues evaluations.
National Security Council (NSC) convened for a second time on Thursday with the participation of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
NSC is expected to re-convene on Monday after working out on the plan. NSC statement stressed that Turkey sincerely supported the efforts to reach a fair and permanent solution on Cyprus.
Cyprus session will be held in the Parliament on April 6 with the proposal of Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.
