Turkey Tells U.N. That It Is Ready To Sign Annan Plan

BUERGENSTOCK - Turkey on Wednesday told the U.N. that it was ready to sign Annan plan.
Sources said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, during their meeting with the U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, said they were ready to sign the plan in case an agreement was reached between the sides. U.N. Secretary General thanked to Erdogan and Gul for this.
The U.N. has earlier asked the sides to bring the negotiation process to an end by signing the Annan plan in case they reach an agreement.
Turkey said it was ready to respond affirmatively to this proposal of the U.N., whereas Greece and Greek Cypriot side rejected this.
Diplomatic sources said Turkey came to Switzerland knowing its obligations within this process which has started in New York.
The sources said Turkey fulfilled all its obligations within the process stating that Turkey would continue to fulfill its responsibilities.
