N.S.C. Meeting Focuses On Developments About Iraq

ANKARA - National Security Council's (NSC) Wednesday meeting focused on developments about Iraq.
Releasing a statement on Wednesday, NSC Secretariat General said that NSC held its regular meeting.
It noted that developments about Iraq were assessed in detail in the meeting and stated, ''new formations watched in political transition period in Iraq and results of implementation of Interim Constitution accepted by Iraqi Governing Council were reviewed. It was underlined that all groups in Iraq should determine their future together for political process to end successfully.''
Stressing that United Nations (U.N.) should undertake a central role during this process, the statement said that talks which have been continuing with the United States on eradication of terrorist organization, which continued to exist in the north of Iraq, from this country were reviewed in detail.
The statement said that security and public order was assessed throughout the country in the meeting and added that it was decided that assessment on Cyprus issue would be made in the meeting of NSC on Thursday.
