TIRANA - State Minister Besir Atalay opened on Wednesday ''The 3rd Albanian-Turkish Export Products Fair'' organized by Istanbul Chamber of Trade (ITO) in Tirana, Albania.
Atalay delivered a speech at the opening of the fair and recalled that he also held bilateral meetings in Tirana where he was visiting for the fair.
''There is not any problem between Turkey and Albania. Our relations in economic, political and also cultural fields are going well. There is an issue on which the two sides have consensus. We should lift barriers in front of our businessmen and we should support them. Improvement of trade and investment will bring our relations to better levels. Many Turkish companies are making investments in different fields in Albania,'' he noted.
Stating that the fair promoted important Turkish export products, Atalay said that supporting businessmen and private sector was one of the most important policies of Turkish government.
Albanian Economics Minister Anastas Angjeli said that they appreciated investments of Turkish companies in Albania and stated that Economics Ministry would provide Turkish investors with necessary facilities.
ITO Chairman Mehmet Yildirim noted that trade volume between the two countries reached 150 million U.S. dollars and stated, ''there are political and friendly relations between Turkey and Albania. We want to bring those relations to economy field.''
Officials said that 56 Turkish companies from different sectors including foodstuff, textile and furniture joined the fair which would be open till April 3.
